There have been several times at my job at a local grocery store's deli that I have commented on the idiotic design of some of the machinery that is used in the store. Usually those conversations end in a remark, made by me, about it being designed by A Man, because he obviously would never have to clean it so he makes it as cumbersome and painfully difficult to clean as possible.
So I had an idea of starting a project in which I find things that women designed/invented/fixed to make life easier not only on themselves, but easier for everybody.
I'll be chronicling my findings here. I'll be researching products, designers (female, of course), and maybe even finding things a woman should have designed and sharing my opinions of badly designed products.
I'm doing this to keep me in the "design-frame-of-mind" while I search for a big-girl job, but also because I love research/learning things, and this could also be really entertaining.
So let's see how this goes, shall we?
